Pumpkin Spice + Cozy Blankets + Harvest

The leaves are changing, the air is starting to get cooler and my husband is spending time getting equipment ready for field work. This can only mean that fall is upon us.

Am i the only one that thinks Summer went by way too fast? I think the reason i love minnesota so much is simply because we get to enjoy 4 seasons. last spring, i was completely ready for warm weather and sunny days on the lake. now that september is almost over and our anniversary is coming up, i am beyond ready for fall. But i do have to share some of our favorite times during this summer.

My in laws keep their boat docked at Lake Washington so we visit very regularly. we love time at the lake and our annual trip to the cabin!

But summer is done and fall is here and that means i got to change up the decorations in our house. i know i may have decorated early, but with my work schedule and harvest approaching, the time seemed right.

Let's discuss decor before i dig deep into my favorite things about fall.

I took the leap and got rid of all my orange fall/autumn decor. last year at this time, we still hadn't painted our dining and living room and were just getting settled into things after being newly married. as you can tell, a lot has changed since. The entire house is pretty much white and things are much more natural around here!

Let's start with my living room!

I found the mustard poppy's at Hobby Lobby and fell in love. I played around with those and the olive stems from Magnolia but something was missing. I added a few Eucalyptus and fell in love. I love the pop of color!

I scored a few throw pillows! The smaller buffalo check pillows are from Ikea. The larger buffalo check pillows are from The Seafood Cottage and the adorable happy harvest pillow is from livingwithamanda.

I picked up this cathedral window from Magnolia when we visited waco. I still to this day, haven't found a place for it that i completely love. But, in the mean time, i have it hanging above a shelf in our living room! I found this wreath at tj maxx and loved the maroon and mustard colors along with the greens. I thought it would fit perfect with the rest of the fall decor.

On to the dining room...

Like I said before, i went with more neutral colors for fall this year. I scored pumpkins from all over. To be honest, i found the best quality pumpkins at tj maxx. I wanted to create a landscape of pumpkins and greens and loved the blues, greens and whites. I found this white pitcher and figured a few eucalyptus stems would finish it off.

I found these adorable plates at michael's. Napkins are from ikea!

My small hutch was the perfect spot for this gorgeous sign from Heather @heather.thewhitefarmhouse

I found this sign at smallwood home and knew it needed to go above my coffee bar! If you can't tell by the pictures above- i am totally digging eucalyptus this fall:)

I can't wait to work on the blog and enjoy apple cider in our dining room this fall!

Onto farm life....

Harvest is fast approaching and that means a lot of the time i get to spend with brett will be in the tractor. growing up, i used to ride in the combine with my dad. He gave me the job and making sure the corn was still coming in the hopper. Fast forward 20 years, i am spending time in the combine with my husband cracking jokes and talking about how well the crops are yielding.

While decorating our home for fall and enjoying pumpkin spice lattes are fun- spending time in the field and watching my husband and my father in law put in endless hours doing what they absolutely love- is what makes my heart full.

Farming takes a lot of work and dedication and i am beyond grateful to have a husband who has dedicated his life to this lifestyle. during harvest he wakes up early to take care of our 3,000 pigs and then heads to the field. Most of our suppers are enjoyed in the combine and then i head home to hit the hay long before he comes home.

I know we do not have children, but this video really touches my heart and makes me beyond grateful to be married to a man who is dedicated to this lifestyle. I hope we can have children someday that i can pray this prayer with each night while brett is out planting or harvesting.

God bless you all
